MicroTech CEO Tony Jimenez spoke before close to 200 attendees at the North Carolina Chapter of the Project Management Institute, held April 26, in Durham. Tony’s informative speech was entitled: “PMI-isms that are True-isms – Keys to Success.”
As a former Level III Certified Acquisition Project Manager (PM), Tony offered his experience and a number of sound ideas and helpful tips to become a better PM. He told the rapt audience about how he leveraged his project management knowledge to launch MicroTech. He spoke of lessons learned “the hard way,” about how “communication is the DNA of success,” and how PMs must exhibit leadership to get and stay ahead.
Tony also shared his perspective as a small business owner and how challenging it is to find your niche or piece of the government contracting pie.
One impressed attendee remarked about Tony’s talk, “It resonated with me greatly.”
Tony offered to the crowd, Ten Attributes of a Great Project Manager, which included “being a people person,” looking for the big picture beyond the details, and “recognizing the value of your career as a PM.”
