MicroTech hosted a networking event this afternoon for all Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) clients. Minority-owned business leaders who are members of the MBDA visited MicroTech headquarters for a Federal Procurement Center information session. Though space was limited, the guests packed into the Training Center for a two hour session followed by a tour of the MicroTech facilities.

The MBDA falls under the U.S. Department of Commerce. The agency works to help minority and diaspora communities. They do this by providing 40 business centers where business owners can receive information, technical help, access to capital, and contract opportunities.

Tony Jimenez, MicroTech President & CEO, serves on the MBDA Advisory Board and MicroTech is one of the Federal Procurement Center’s clients. Jimenez kicked off the event with MBDA Executive Director, Joe Grabenstein. Jimenez’ keynote speech touched upon his journey beginning as an Army Soldier to now being a successful Technology business owner and outlined his recommendations, lessons-learned, and predictions involving sequestration.

As the founder of a nationally recognized, industry leading Service-Disabled Veteran and Hispanic-owned business, he said, “Being able to partner with the MBDA’s Federal Procurement Center and our fellow members is a privilege.” He added, “MicroTech is always willing to share our success story to encourage and help other entrepreneurs and small businesses avoid obstacles by providing them with our lessons-learned.”

The session concluded with a Q&A panel discussion including MicroTech thought-leaders: Tim Dioquino, Consulting Services; Roger Channing, Innovation; Scott Kaye, Channels & Alliances; and Preston Quick, Business Development. Followed by an opportunity for a hosted tour of the MicroTech Knowledge Fusion Center and the Innovation & Integration Center (I2C), a green-tech, cloud, data center, and advanced virtual environment showroom and collaboration hub.
