MicroTech COO Steve Truitt was on hand last night at the SmartCEO VOLT Awards event held at the National Press Club in Washington DC. MicroTech was named a finalist for the inaugural VOLT award focused on technology innovators. The awards celebrate the distinguished achievements of Greater Washington’s leaders in the field.

The VOLT nominees boast a solid reputation of developing new technology to create a competitive advantage for their customers. The SmartCEO awards mark the role that technology plays in the local business community and the future impact the tech sector will have on economic growth.

MicroTech is a member of the 2011 Red Herring Global 100 as one of the most innovative technology companies in the world. SmartCEO previously selected MicroTech as a “Technical Trailblazer” — the top government contractor that has developed an innovative technological product or breakthrough in the public sector.

“[MicroTech’s] innovations in secure video conferencing have provided an undeniable competitive advantage over other suppliers,” stated SmartCEO in their May 2012 issue.
