The rain can’t stop a good golf outing, and it sure can’t stop a good fundraiser. Jason Chung, MicroTech’s Senior Solutions Director of Financial Services, golfed at the 11th Annual Cardinal Charity Classic Golf Tournament yesterday at the Country Club of Fairfax. MicroTech, a long-time partner of Cardinal Bank, sponsored the tournament which raises money for healthcare, wellness, and education services for children and families.

Over $2.5 million has been raised during the Cardinal Bank Charity Classic throughout the past decade. The fundraising goal for this year’s Cardinal Classic was $250,000.

The proceeds from the event will go to the Inova Kellar Center and the Cardinal Bank Community Fund. The Inova Kellar center is the premier behavioral health center for Northern Virginia. Founded in 1991, the center provides mental health counseling, drug abuse treatment programs, and education services. The Cardinal Bank Community Fund builds relationships with non-profit partners whose focus is on children and families, healthcare and wellness, arts and humanities, and educational services.

Other than fundraising for overall physical and mental health, the Fund also awarded 30 grants last year to organizations such as the Jill's House, Phoenix Houses of the Mid-Atlantic, Readers and Leaders, The Martin Luther King, Jr. Cultural Foundation, and the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts.
