UPRAA holds Annual Golf Tournament to Support Latino Community

On Thursday September 19th, The Association of University of Puerto Rico Alumni and Friends Abroad (UPRAA), will hold their annual Washington, DC Hispanic Charity Golf Classic at The Courses at Andrews at Andrews Air Force Base, MD. This is UPRAA’s largest fundraiser which allows the group to give back to the community and supports the growth and development of Latino youth.

UPRAA is an organization created to establish a network of University of Puerto Rico Alumni and Friends in the Continental United States and abroad. The organization works to develop and conduct programs and initiatives for the benefit of their membership, and supports the educational goals of the University of Puerto Rico educational system. MicroTech’s SVP/Executive Director of MicroTech International Tomas Esterrich is the UPRAA Director and Past President and Founder.

“UPRAA believes in the importance of giving back to the community and we are committed to supporting the development of our youth so they are prepared to become future leaders” said Esterrich.

Over the past four years, UPRAA has been able to award over $75,000 in scholarships to young Hispanic students based on their demonstration of academic merit, a commitment to public service and financial need.
