
Dr. Roger Channing is the Chief Technology Officer and provides the technical vision that guides MicroTech business strategy and enhances the organization's competitive position. In this important role, he monitors new technologies and assesses their potential as possible new products and services, and directs important research projects to ensure that they add value to the company. He closely assesses potential vendors from a technical viewpoint and develops strategic relationships with relevant industry leaders.
He is also responsible for MicroTech's Innovation and Integration Center (I2C) which focuses on bringing leading edge IT and emerging technologies quickly to market by implementing rapid technology insertion, IT integration, business enterprise solutions, knowledge management solutions and advanced learning strategies. Emerging technologies include private cloud solutions, high density/green computing, micro/mobile/portable data center solutions, and MicroCube Solutions (clouds in a box). His division is also responsible for the premier MicroTech Innovation Labs (MIL) - Emerging Technology Center, the MicroDataCenter for Cloud Solutions; and the Test, Evaluation, and Integration Laboratory (TE&I Lab) where MicroTech collaborates with its industry partners to showcase leading edge IR&D.
Roger has over 35 years of military and government experience that includes executive leadership, consulting, business transformation, teaching and IT management experience as an operations director for a large systems integrator. In addition, he has experience consulting for various organizations including the Office of the VP, OHS/DHS, FBI, Congress, PA State Universities, Joint Staff and various other federal agencies. Roger is a twenty-nine year veteran with command and staff experience as an Infantry Colonel. He is a graduate of the Army’s Command and General Staff College and the Army War College. Dr. Channing was an Associate Professor at the U.S. Military Academy (USMA), and a Supervising Professor at the Industrial College (ICAF), National Defense University (NDU). Roger’s Doctorate is from Columbia University in Psychology, MA from Webster University, an MA and M.ED, Columbia University and a BS from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the American Psychological Association.
