
MicroTech Sr. Vice President of Business Development Byron Athan has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Association of American Veterans, Inc. (NAAV).
NAAV supports severely injured, single-parent service members, military caregivers, and veterans and their families with financial, legal, career and stress counseling, along with housing and employment assistance. Veteran families struggling with overwhelming financial, marital, post-traumatic stress disorder or traumatic experiences seek the organization's help daily. Constance A. Burns is the Founder and President & CEO of NAAV.
NAAV provides services to veterans and their families residing at Fisher House locations in the greater Washington, DC and East Coast area. The Fisher House provides a "home away from home" for military families to be near loved ones during hospitalization.
Byron was a career Army officer with worldwide assignments in the Air Defense Artillery and the Acquisition Corps. He has worked in both contracting and program roles developing, procuring, and maintaining weapon systems, C3 systems, and IT programs.
Byron joined MicroTech in May 2010. He will serve a two-year term that extends into 2014.
