Vienna, VA, July 27, 2007—MicroTech, LLC, a premier Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and 8(a) small business announced today that President and CEO Anthony (Tony) Jimenez was again called upon as an expert witness regarding contract bundling and its effect on Veteran-Owned Small Business and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business opportunities in the Federal Government.

The testimony before the US House of Representatives, Committee on Veterans’ Affairs took place on July 26, 2007.  Jimenez is the founder and CEO of MicroTech LLC, a leading provider of Information Technology (IT) and Network Support Services.

In written testimony, Jimenez discussed the reasons for contract bundling, the effects contract bundling has on small business and ways the Government could use the power of procurement reforms to help small businesses while at the same time seeking out way to perform services and purchase products more efficiently and for a lower price.

He cited MicroTech’s successes at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, Social Security Administration and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as clear examples of how the Federal Government structured contract requirements to facilitate competition by and among small business concerns; avoiding unnecessary and unjustified bundling that precluded small business participation.

According to Mr. Jimenez, “It was a pleasure and a privilege to appear once again before the committee and to share my thoughts regarding Contract Bundling. The members of the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs have spent an exorbitant amount of researching ways to increase opportunities for SDVOSBs and anything I can do to help improve the processes used by government organizations and agencies to contract support is important.”
