Inc. Magazine announced its 27th annual Inc. 500 ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in the country. Federal Information Technology (IT) services provider, MicroTech, ranks No. 285 on the list, with four-year growth of 965.6%. The 2008 Inc. 500 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies had to be U.S.-based, privately held, independent – no subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – and have had at least $200,000 in net sales in the base year. Federal spending propels a large number of companies onto the Inc. 500. Washington D.C. was the top metropolitan area on the list for the fourth consecutive year. Of these, MicroTech was ranked No. 25. In addition MicroTech was selected as one of the Top 100 IT Services Companies in the Nation. MicroTech was ranked No. 35.
This accomplishment is of particular significance because MicroTech is not only a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOB) they are also certified as a Participant in the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) 8(a) program and a Hispanic-Owned Small Business and member of the Hispanic 500 (one of the Top 500 Hispanic businesses in the US). MicroTech’s success not only demonstrates the ability of Veterans to compete in the highly competitive and extremely specialized Federal IT Services industry, it demonstrates the ability of small, disadvantaged businesses to excel in an environment normally dominated by larger companies. “We are extremely honored to have made the Inc. 500 list this year,” says MicroTech’s CEO, Tony Jimenez. “In an increasingly competitive marketplace, this selection validates the dedication and innovation that our people bring to our clients and our partners. It’s really been an exciting four years for us and we look forward to moving up on the list in 2009!”
In July 2008, MicroTech purchased the assets of the Visual Communications Division of SIGCOM. SIGCOM, based in Greensboro, NC, has been a pioneer and leader in visual communications, video teleconferencing services, audio visual integration, Internet Protocol (IP) network services, streaming video solutions and many other types of communications technical services and solutions for over 20 years. A particular area of focus is providing secure, high quality, high volume video conferencing services over IP networks. With this acquisition, MicroTech will provide managed solutions for the most demanding conferencing and collaboration technology supporting mission critical requirements throughout the Department of Defense, other federal agencies and commercial clients.
MicroTech applies its regimented process, enterprise IT experience, and state-of-the-art engineering solutions to integrate different technologies and create proven results that respond to clients' strategic needs. MicroTech’s success is due in part to MicroTech’s diverse client base, exceptional customer relations, and their ability to help clients maximize productivity, reduce total cost of ownership and minimize the risk associated with technology upgrades and systems modernization. Today, MicroTech has grown into a full service IT firm with over 200 people and revenues in the millions.
