The U.S. – Mexico Chamber of Commerce operates 12 chapters in Mexico and the United States and offers strong local membership and prominent international contacts. The chapters directly assist local businesses in bridging differences in legal, regulatory and economic systems, as well as language and culture.
MicroTech (Microtech.net) is one of the fastest growing IT enterprise services companies in the U.S. MicroTech offers Information Technology Support and Services, Management Services and Systems, Audio-Visual Telecommunications Design and Installation, Product Solutions, and Consulting Services primarily to the U.S. Federal government and city, state, and local agencies – managing over half-a-million IT users daily.
“It’s a honor and privilege to be named to the Board of Directors of such a progressive trade organization that has helped fill an important business need in binational relations,” said Tony Jimenez. “Globalization has brought the world to our doorstep. It’s beneficial to the U.S. to have close ties with neighboring countries like Mexico, and to continue our valuable and mutually-complementary relationships.”
Jimenez is actively involved in several Hispanic associations including the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and is a founding member of the Hispanic GovCon Network (HGN); a networking group focused on accomplished Hispanic professionals and leaders.
Last year, Jimenez was recognized as a Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise, honoring minority business owners in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The Minority Enterprise Executive Council named Jimenez one of the 25 Most Powerful Minority Men in Business, and the National Association of Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology (LISTA) named Tony as the “CEO of the Year,” for his work in the development of MicroTech and its growth, as well as his community volunteer work assisting Latino technology professionals.
This year, MicroTech was selected by Inc Magazine, DiversityBusiness.com and Hispanic Business Magazine as a Top 500 Business, and Jimenez was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Veteran Champion of the Year by the United States Small Business Administration (SBA).
“’Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness’ are not just values shared only by Americans, but also by our close neighbors to the South,” Jimenez said. “Let’s recognize and celebrate our similarities instead of focusing on our differences.”
