Vienna, VA - June 24, 2010 — MicroTech, a leading Systems Integrator and IT Solutions Provider, obtained its ISO 20000 certification this week becoming one of only 25 Corporations in the United States and one of only 519 Corporations worldwide to have achieved this important business certification. The impressive results were highlighted by the fact that there were no non-conformities identified during the ISO 20000 assessment and MicroTech was recommended for certification with "unconditional approval."
ISO 20000 is the world's first international standard for IT Service Management. It defines the requirements for a service provider to deliver managed services and describes detailed best practices. Overall, these standards specify five key group service management processes: Service Delivery, Relationship, Resolution, Control and Release.
"ISO 20000 certification reaffirms MicroTech's position at the forefront of enterprise IT management," said Tony Jimenez, MicroTech President & CEO. "This provides tangible evidence of our ability to consistently deliver best practices regarding IT service management. When you combine this with our ISO 9001:2008 Certification, our Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Certification and our Accreditation as an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) Training Organization - MicroTech is in a league of its own."
This new ISO 20000 credential further attests to MicroTech's commitment to excellence as it provides services to its extensive lineup of partners and clients, and is a tremendous advantage in the Federal IT arena. It also reaffirms the corporation's long held philosophy of continuous improvement. As one of America's fastest growing businesses, MicroTech has matched its remarkable growth (more than 5000% in revenue since its launch in 2004 and greater than a four-fold increase in the number of employees since 2008) with the expansion of its quality programs and consistent and comprehensive documentation of its best practices.
"The real value is better service to our customers, stronger internal business processes, and improved responsiveness to our employees," said Jimenez. "ITIL offers certifications for individuals; ISO 20000 is an organizational certification with international recognition and every senior manager in an ISO 20000 certified company knows the benefits that come from gaining this status."
