Vienna, VA - October 6, 2011 - MicroTech, a leading technology systems integrator, was recognized as the No. 1 Fastest Growing Privately-Held Software Service Provider in the $100 Million — $1Billion range on the "2011 Software 500" survey of the world's largest software providers. MicroTech is making its first appearance in this elite group, published in the latest edition of Digital Software Magazine.
Now in its 29th year, The Software 500 is an annual revenue-based ranking of the world's largest software and service suppliers. Among the 500 largest companies worldwide on the survey, MicroTech was ranked #167 overall, with software-related revenue of over $261 Million last year.
MicroTech provides Technology Services, Systems Integration, Product Solutions, Unified Communications & Collaboration, Cloud Computing, and Innovation & Integration to the public sector and Fortune 500 enterprises — managing more than half-a-million tech users daily. A prime contractor on more than 100 Federal projects and 28 procurement vehicles, MicroTech offers access to over 2500 vendors and over a million tech products and services across the government.
"What an honor it is to make such a prestigious list of software and service providers around the world," said Tony Jimenez, President & CEO of MicroTech. "MicroTech has been repeatedly acknowledged as a fast growing business in the U.S. and Canada, however this is the first time that this type of recognition extends beyond North America and encompasses the globe. And with our new line of MicroKloud® private cloud computing and migration technology solutions, MicroTech is well positioned to expand its business into new international markets."
The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2010. This includes revenue from software licenses, maintenance and support, training, and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware.
"The Software 500 helps CIOs, senior IT managers, and IT staff research and create the short list of business partners," says Desmond John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine and Softwaremag.com. "It is a quick reference of vendor viability. And the online version is searchable by category, making it what we call the online catalog to enterprise software."
