Vienna, VA - November 22, 2011 - MicroTech, a leading technology systems integrator, announces that it has been selected as a finalist for the Red Herring 2011 Top 100 Global award, a prestigious recognition honoring the most bold and far reaching private technology companies and entrepreneurs from across the globe. MicroTech will present their winning strategies next month at the Red Herring Global Forum in Los Angeles. The Top 100 winners will be announced on December 7th at a special awards ceremony at the event.

MicroTech was named to the Red Herring 100 North America in June. They were the No. 1 company in the IT Consulting & Services category from the Washington, DC area and State of Virginia region to be honored.

MicroTech provides Technology Services, Systems Integration, Product Solutions, Unified Communications & Collaboration, Cloud Computing, and Innovation & Integration to the public sector, as well as Fortune 500 enterprises — managing more than half-a-million tech users daily. A prime contractor on more than 100 Federal projects and 28 procurement vehicles, MicroTech offers access to over 2500 vendors and over a million tech products and services across the government.

"We are ecstatic to be selected as a Red Herring 100 global finalist," said Tony Jimenez, MicroTech President & CEO. "Technology innovation has always been the calling card of MicroTech. And we are living up to our reputation with the launch of the MicroTech Innovation & Integration Center (I2C) to enhance building next generation collaborative knowledge and advanced learning environments. And our new line of MicroKloud™ cloud computing and migration technology solutions make us well positioned to expand into new markets in 2012."

"Technology companies are becoming the bright spot in the economic outlook based on their increasing role within macro-economic environments," stated Alex Vieux, Chairman of Red Herring. "2011 has confirmed the sector's vibrant activity and its resilience to widespread economic problems. An unprecedented number of entrepreneurs are attempting to jump ahead of the competition and aspire to make a difference. Breakthroughs obsolete each other faster than ever before. MicroTech has performed exceptionally in its field and strongly deserves to be singled out as one of the Red Herring Global Finalists."

To make it to the world finals, more than 1000 companies from over 40 nations, representing past Red Herring Asia, Europe and North America awards, were judged on a range of qualitative and quantitative metrics, including technology innovation, financial performance, growth criterion, management's execution standards, potential globalization of the strategy and market share improvement.

Digital Software Magazine recently recognized MicroTech as the fastest growing privately-held software service provider in the world.
