MicroTech Obtains Elite CMMI Level 3 Rating

Vienna, VA – February 15, 2011 — Technology and systems integrator MicroTech has reached the elite Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level (ML) 3 rating; just 12 short months from attaining CMMI ML 2 rating. MicroTech is now the only known Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and 8(a) certified in ISO 9001, ISO 20000, and CMMI ML 3; and one of only 20 businesses in the U.S. with all three designations.

CMMI is an internationally recognized business process improvement model; a collection of "best practices" for the development of products and services. CMMI ML 3 rated organizations are characterized by rigorous, proactive organizational processes that are tailored by organizational units and projects for practical implementation, and continuously improved through the measurement of their efficiency and effectiveness, and other formal mechanisms.

"This highly-regarded business management milestone reinforces the value we place on quality standards," said Tony Jimenez, MicroTech President & CEO. "We are committed that while keeping pace with our rapid growth, we remain vigilant in maintaining the CMMI standard of excellence to always meet and exceed customer expectations."

Referred to as "the hottest Hispanic business in the nation," MicroTech provides Technology Services, Systems Integration, Product Solutions, Unified Communications & Collaboration, and Innovation & Integration primarily to the public sector. CMMI ratings are obtained through appraisals conducted by certified professionals through Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute (SEI). SEI works closely with defense and government organizations, industry, and academia to continually improve the processes used by organizations to develop products and services on time and within budget.

MicroTech boasts a solid history of strong business processes based on industry best practices and quality-related credentials. The organization achieved certification in the world's most widely used Quality Management System (QMS) standard - ISO 9001:2000 - in only its second year of operation, and became ISO 9001:2008 certified in 2009. The company is also ISO 20000 certified - the first international standard for IT Service Management. And MicroTech's executive management team is Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) Foundation qualified.

"We have made these strategic investments in our systems, infrastructure and processes to better serve our customers; achieving CMMI ML 3 places MicroTech in a select group of solution providers who have adopted this approach to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction," Jimenez said.
