Tomás Esterrich, SVP/Executive Director, MicroTech International, and José F. Niño, Consultant, MicroTech International, attended the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) inaugural Top 50 Leaders in Latin America Summit and Gala at the Mayfair Hotel in Miami, Florida last week.

HITEC is a global leadership organization of executives from some of the largest Hispanic-owned IT companies in the nation and decision-makers from Global 1000 corporations whose mission is to increase Hispanic leadership in the IT industry.

One of the ways MicroTech leads that same charge is through MicroTech International, a subsidiary of MicroTech, which develops and deploys MicroTech products and services to Latin America and Canada. Esterrich leads the Team, providing solutions such as MicroKloud®, MicroPodd®, Cyber Security, Mobility, and Big Data Analytics along with technology integration and unified communications and collaboration services to those countries.

Tomás Esterrich agreed that HITEC’s mission of filling the IT pipeline with next generation Latin American executives lines up well with the MicroTech’s International goals. He said, “MicroTech International’s innovative, cost-effective IT solutions allow emerging markets to make the technological jump forward to increase commercial competiveness, regulatory compliance, and citizen services. It makes business sense because the Latin American market keeps growing in an era when other national and international markets are in status quo and even decreasing in size.”

Themed “Transforming the Americas through Technology,” the summit discussions revolved around popular topics like Nearshoring, Mobility, Big Data and Analytics, Social Media, Diversity, and Leadership.

The roster of speakers included excutives from large IT companies like Oracle’s Group Vice President, Juan Carlos Gutierrez; DHL Global Forwarding’s SVP, CIO Americas, Ricardo Bartra; and Cisco’s Director of IT, Ileana Rivera. Others thought leaders hailed from public organizations like Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Incoming Chairman, Compuquit, Chairman, Alberto Dosal, and the University of Michigan’s Director for Center for Engineering Diversity and Outreach, Robert Scott. Manny Medina, Former Founder and Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of TERRAMARK, and Chairman and CEO of Medina Capital Partners, was the keynote speaker.
